One of Valve’s biggest free Steam games, Team Fortress 2, just got a major new update, 16 years after its initial release.
Team Fortress 2is one of the most popular video game shooters of all time, and arguably the most beloved gameValvehas ever made. Featuring nine classes to choose from, all with their own unique personalities, abilities and voice lines, players are divided into red and blue teams, and go head-to-head in deathmatch and objective based modes.

ThePCversion of the game, accessible throughSteam, is still incredibly popular years after its release, and still has ahighly consistent playerbase. Recently, the game received a huge spike in active users, thanks to a brand new update.

The Summer 2023 update is a free download that’ll automatically install itself when you load up the game, and adds a pretty impressive amount of new content, which is something players haven’t seen in ages since Valve moved on from the game years ago.
New additions include 14 new community maps, a new cosmetic case featuring 25 community-contributed items, 6 new community-contributed taunts, 20 new community-created Unusual effects, and a Summer 2023 War Paint Case. All these are part of a Summer event, which will continue until 15th September 2023.
Plenty of bug fixes and patches were also included, which fix commonly reported issues like general security and stability problems, as well as odd graphical glitches.
