Despite being replaced as Superman in the upcoming DC adaptations, director Matthew Vaughn has expressed interest in bringing back Henry Cavill for aSuperman: Red Sonmovie.

Described as “the Champion of the common worker who fights a never-ending battle for Stalin, socialism, and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact,” Vaughn believes a potentialRed Sonmovie would be a chance to take into account the issues going on in the world right now.
Vaughn describesSuperman: Red Sonas “one of the cleverest comics” and that “it’s certainly become a lot more relevant because ignorance causes more issues, and I think the more we learn about Russia and Russian history…” The filmmaker pauses in thought beforeadding, “Could you imagine remakingRed Sonwith Henry Cavill? That would be an interesting movie.”
After working with Cavill on his recent movie,Argyle,it is high praise indeed from Vaughn but it remains to be seen if his plans will actually come into fruition.
