
With the past few years seeing remakes and remasters become as popular as ever, there is no wonder that fans are calling out for their favourite classic games to receive the same treatment. More recently, that seems to be the case forTenchu: Stealth Assassins.

The topic was broached after apostwas made on the /XboxSeriesX thread some time last year. The original poster wrote: “My pick for an IP revival” alongside an image ofTenchu: Stealth Assassins.As you can imagine, it was not long before people started getting involved in the conversation.

“I forgot this was Activision. Heck yeah this would be awesome,” read one reply. However, other clued-up fans were quick to point out that Activision does not in fact own the IP and instead worked as publishers for the title. A few years ago,FromSoftwarehad plans to develop aTenchutitle but this project instead turned intoSekiro.
“I hope this isn’t the go to every time they think about making a newTenchu.Sekirois great, butTenchu’sseries was amazing,” one user replied.
Telling the story of a ninja in 16th-century Japan, theTenchuseries only went on to receive four main entries. However, it has a total of 14 titles including spin-offs, mobile games and ports/re-releases. Despite this, the most recent entry was released back in 2008 so it is definitely due a revival.
However, with FromSoftware turning its attention to some bigger projects (Elden Ringcough cough*), it may be a while until we see aTenchu: Stealth Assassinsremake. Never say never!
