A couple of Comic Con goers have landed themselves in hot water after an “inappropriate” interaction withThe Boys’actor Valorie Curry last week.
Curry, best known for her work as Kara in the video gameDetroit: Become Humanand Firecracker in Amazon’s hit TV showThe Boys, took to Instagram last week to detail her gross interaction with a specific fan at Comic Con Northern Ireland.
In a video post on Instagram, Curry explained that she wanted to talk about “boundaries and what is appropriate in terms of behaviour” following the improper interaction she had at the event.

“I know people saw a character that I play do some pretty extreme things onThe Boys. I don’t care if you’re in costume, I don’t care if you are in character. It’s not okay and it’s not funny to demand those things from me in person at my booth” she explained.
“Frankly, to the person who did that repeatedly today, I made it pretty clear that it wasn’t OK and that only seemed to make this person and their friend angry…” continued Curry.
“…it was quite clear I was uncomfortable… Everybody else knows better. I don’t know what reaction you were looking for. Nobody was laughing.”
Although Curry didn’t specify exactly what the Comic Con goer did to make her uncomfortable, many have assumed that the man in question was cosplaying as Homelander, another character fromThe Boys, and was attempting to recreate a scene from the show with the actor.

This is also a bit of an unfortunate case of life imitating art, as Curry’s character Firecracker was first introduced inThe Boysduring a scene at a convention where the character had to field inappropriate questions from people at the event.
The event organisers for Comic Con Northern Ireland have already made a statement following the incident, stating that they have a “zero tolerance” policy for harassment and referring to the event in question as “unacceptable”.
This article has been updated to reflect that the event took place at Comic Con Northern Island, not Comic Con Dublin.
