The climatic finale is looming large, with theAmazonshow winding up for an intense finish. Part of that intensity comes from a major character seemingly leaving the show for good.

Although this isn’t the first time a member of The Seven has done so, it’s still a shock for fans.
While fans can surely sympathise with what the character has been through, and support the ultimate decision to leave, that doesn’t make saying farewell any easier. Especially as it seems so final.
Considering Homelander’s dedication to figuring out the weak link in Vought, departing before being discovered feels like the safest and wisest choice.

On the flip side of this, however, you have the fact that Homelander is feeling mightily betrayed right now, and so the story of A-Train feels unfinished. Whether that final chapter takes place on or off our screens, though, remains a mystery.
Perhaps the finale will give us such closure, or maybe we’ll have to wait until season five. Either way, A-Train has left the building.
