The Elder Scrolls 6 2026 release date ‘more likely than you think’, fans agree

Today celebrates the thirteenth anniversary ofThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimbut for many, it is just a reminder of how long we have been waiting for the next TES entry.

It is hard to believe that it has already been six years sinceThe Elder Scrolls 6was first revealed and even harder to believe that since then, all we have received is a brief teaser trailer.

WithBethesdakeeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to the next entry, it is no surprise that fans are eager for the smallest bit of information.

There is no denying that the studio has big shoes to fill, considering the history-spanning success ofThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimbut according to one fan, we could be gettingTESVIa lot sooner than we think.

Posted to r/TESVI a few months back, one user shared the reasons why they believeThe Elder Scrolls 6could be released in 2026.

However, they do kick off their post with a disclaimer.

“If I had to bet money on it I’d say sometime between 2027-2028, but with Bethesda’s recent track record I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pushed out even further than that.”

Bringing us back down to reality with a bang.

However, they go on to share two major reasons why they believe the game could be released in two years time.

The first is a court document from FTC vs. Microsoft that reveals Bethesda has a project release scheduled for 2026 (or later) so we at least know that 2026 is the minimum.

Additionally, Bethesda has a pattern of releasing games two years after they were originally scheduled to launch.

For example,StarfieldandRedfallwere scheduled for 2021 but came out in 2023.

Of course, this is all rumour and speculation but it is interesting to think about.
