Now the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series is in full-development, but fans are still salty that it was revealed so early, an issue that’s actually affectingthe whole of the gaming industry, not just Bethesda’s products.

Reddit user Sheogorath put it bluntly in a recent post, saying, “I’m honestly kind of angry that it’s taking over a decade for the next Elder Scrolls.”

They went on to explain that they understood the hardships of making video games, after all,Rockstar Gameshas only just revealed the trailer forGTA VI, another game that’s taken years and years to develop.

Sheogorath’s main gripe is that early announcements that are intended to hype up fans for the release are actually having the opposite effect, instead making fans lose interest until the game releases to a resounding “meh”.

It’s certainly an issue - and what’s even worse is that some fans are concernedThe Elder Scrolls VI will beanother disappointmenton release.Fallout 76andStarfieldboth released to a poor reception from fans, withFallout 76being a broken-mess andStarfieldnot being the innovative sci-fi adventurefans were expecting.

Only time will tell ifThe Elder Scrolls VIwill live up to the hype, though at least Bethesda will be operating in its familiar mediaeval setting rather than experimenting with a brand-new IP.
