The Elder Scrolls 6 announcement slammed by angry fans

If it isn’t Rockstar Games facing a lashing from fans, which is all too common these days, then it’s the likes of Bethesda facing the brunt of fans’ ire. Today is a day where the latter dev comes under scrutiny, specifically in relation to that unforgettable – though deeplyregrettable –The Elder Scrolls VIannouncement.

Five years ago was when the game was first teased. That’s right, five long years, with pretty much bupkis to show for it; rumours have come and gone, but concrete evidence has eluded us all, withBethesdafocusing its sights onStarfield. In some respects, its sights are still upon the sci-fi RPG, however, now that the hype has well and truly died down in spectacular fashion, interest returns to Elder Scrolls once more.

Nesmith added, “Only the fact that the pitchforks and torches were out got Todd to say ‘Yes we’re going to doElder Scrolls VI, it’s for real it’ll happen. But I’m betting you don’t hear much in the way of details until six months before release, which is the way it should be.”

It was us all along, we were the villains and not the devs. It’s unthinkable. Yet, that’s the truth and blame that Nesmith is seemingly lying at our collective door. Naturally, fans are calling out Nesmith’s remarks, stating that “12 years for a sequel is pretty crazy”, while also chiming in that saying fans were annoyed is pointing out the obvious – “Well yeah. In what world is 15 years between sequels [okay]? Fans should, and have, the right to be upset.”

Nevertheless, while plenty of gamers are peeved at being called out for their own BS, some are siding with the devs, with one usersaying, “Could say the same thing aboutGTA VI, but we also gotRDR IIin the interim. Just like we also gotFallout 4,Fallout 76, andStarfieldin the interim. I’d say Bethesda is doing better thanRockstar.”
