InBethesda’s 30th anniversary celebration of all things Elder Scrolls, mention of the next game caused a wave of emotions to hit the fandom like a brick wall. On the one hand, it was satisfying to know that the game isplayable, but on the flip side of that, we’re still several years away from playing it ourselves.

The fear that we won’t make it that long is real, as one Redditorrevealed. “I just have a feeling imma get cancer or something and die the day before release,” said EvenAH27. To which someone else replied they have a similar “irrational fear”, while yet another post read, “I know this is ridiculous, but I always worry about dying before this game comes out.”
Death having its wicked way before we can see whatSkyrim2.0 looks like is such a gnawing worry. Thank goodness, then, that we have the pure of heart tale of a 12-year-oldSkyrimcharacter getting theretirement they deserveto quiet the palpitations we’re all experiencing.
We’re grateful for all the joy Elder Scrolls gives us, but we hope it isn’t another 30 years before we play the next game. If it is, some of us will have kicked the bucket, likely from the anxiety of all this waiting around.
