Fans have been taking their eyes off the ball, as the saying goes.

So much could happen, change, or go wrong before this game launches, which is how this divide over in-game features started.

On Reddit, user Ovan5 began a discussion regarding base building inThe Elder Scrolls VI, specifically how they’d prefer not to see the feature included.

“I’m really hoping Bethesda utterly avoids anything remotely similar toFO4/Starfield’s systems and we just get normal (preferably already decorated) houses in cities that act as player homes and nice little sinks for money,” theyexplained.

For the most part, fans aren’t completely against base building, provided they can choose to ignore said feature if they want to.

“As someone who doesn’t like this kind of mechanic in games like TES ones, I don’t mind it having the mechanic as long as you can avoid it without losing too much gameplay content,” replied Raaslen.

“Loved ‘Hearthfire’ and wouldn’t mind expanding it into a Rorikstead type situation […] I’d hope there is some base building mechanism, but nothing that requires constant upkeep,” commented Rude-Butterscotch713.

Someone else remarked how they’d like it to be likeSkyrim’s ‘Hearthfire’ but “with more control”. Ergo, the happy medium.

If we take into account the type of base building we’ve seen recently from Bethesda titles, we can expect to see the feature in one form or another.

Hopefully it’ll be optional like inStarfieldbecause if it isn’t, fans are going to be ticked off.
