While the majority of Bethesda fans are gearing up for the studio’s brand-new IP,Starfield, many have been looking ahead to future titles, mainlyThe Elder Scrolls VIandFallout 5.

Its official announcement teaser was shared in 2018, a whopping five years ago and we’ve heard nothing since. Then, all the new details aboutStarfieldarose, blowing us away with itshighly-explorable galaxyand making us forget about the whole thing.
Bethesda made it clear that onceStarfieldis out the door, development onThe Elder Scrolls VIwould follow, according to new details from Peter Hines, Head of Publishing at Bethesda Softworks.
Hines recently spoke in an interview withVandal(viaResetEra) about the future of Bethesda, and what projects are on the horizon. Hines said “there are people working on The Elder Scrolls VI” but the majority of the team is still focused onStarfieldfor the time being. When asked if this meantThe Elder Scrolls VIis still in the pre-production/concept planning phase, Hines said: “No. It’s in development, but it’s in early development.”
Exciting news for Bethesda fans, and whileThe Elder Scrolls VIlikely won’t be the space epic thatStarfieldis, it’s almost guaranteed to blow us away with its scope. Bethesda exec Todd Howard recently said the next Elder Scrolls will be the"ultimate fantasy world simulator", as well as potentiallyhis last game.

Given how the game has only just entered production, fans are going to have to strap in for a long wait before we see a glimpse of the title in action. Luckily, we haveStarfieldto tide us over while we wait, and first impressions arelooking very promising.
The Elder Scrolls VIcurrently has no release date, but will likely launch on Xbox, PC and potentially PlayStation platforms.
