The Elder Scrolls 6 is going to be unplayable for an awful lot of you

Just as many suspected, it looks as ifThe Elder Scrolls VIwill launch exclusively on PC and Xbox consoles, much to the disappointment of PlayStation owners who were perhaps hoping that Bethesda’s next release might follow in the footsteps ofSkyrim.

The Elder Scrolls VIcontinues to be a long way away from release. While it is currently in development,Bethesdais hard at work supportingStarfield. The game is set to receive a number of player-requested features this year, including the addition ofcity maps. There is, of course, also the upcomingShattered Spaceexpansion. When the focus does shift toThe Elder Scrolls VI,you can bet that several years of development will still lie ahead. After all, Todd Howard has already referred to it as a game that’llentertain fans for at least a decade.

This is about in line with what many of us expected. Since this document was released, we have seen Xbox begin to experiment with multi-platform releases, withHi-Fi RushandPentimentbeing amongst the first examples. Still, I’d be surprised if the company relinquished their hold overThe Elder Scrolls VI.
