Feel old and/or heartbroken yet? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one.

Take a look at the original teaser below.

In a thread in the r/TESVI subreddit where this upsetting revelation was first noted, several users chimed in with their responses to the news.

“I don’t even get the point of that teaser. It just had a camera pan across a countryside,” replieduser ShawnyMcKnight.

“I’m in my 40s and I’m getting to the point where I’m curious at how many Elder Scrolls and GTA games I’ll have in my life time. I suspect I won’t live to see number nine of these franchises.”

I think we can all agree at this point that that infamous teaser trailer was shown a little too early, but this really puts it all into perspective.

Now it’s not all Bethesda’s fault, really. COVID has obviously impacted the development of the game.

And we all know we’d rather receive a fully realised, fleshed-out game on release, as opposed to a buggy, unpolished mess.

But still, jeez. People are seriously losing it over the lack of updates. Literally anything at this point would satiate folks. A trailer, a screenshot - even the official title. Anything.

Here’s hoping we hear something at any point in the next decade.
