The Elder Scrolls 6 most optimistic release date is still years off, we’re afraid

It seems like the highly anticipated release ofThe Elder Scrolls VImight be further away than some of us may have feared. Like seriously, haven’t we been waiting long enough?

It’s almost hard to believe thatThe Elder Scrolls VIwas first announced six years ago during E3 2018. In fact, it’s been so long since that initial announcement, that E3 isn’t even a thing anymore.

Luckily (I suppose), from the perspective ofBethesda,The Elder Scrolls VIis still some way off from being in the same category asDuke Nukem Forever,Beyond Good & Evil 2andSkull & Bonesas being the most delayed video games of all time. Still, the upcoming fantasy RPG is headed towards unwanted company, surely?

Recent documents coming from the court battle betweenMicrosoftand the FTC over theActivisionBlizzard acquisition (which Microsoft won) suggested thatThe Elder Scrolls VIcould be released in 2026. That being said, considering we’ve seen no gameplay, let alone a release date in the last six years, I’m not optimistic thatThe Elder Scrolls VIwill be released in less than 24 months.

“I think late 2026 is the internal goal for Bethesda to have a complete and fully assembled, yet unpolishedTESVI, leaving the release date to be either 2027 or 2028 depending on how much clean up is needed,”suggestedReddit user EvenAH27.
