With this year being the year Bethesda celebrated its 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, fans hoped the announcement would come alongside someThe Elder Scrolls VInews.
However, that was seemingly not the case.

It may be hard to believe but 2024 marks the 30th anniversary ofThe Elder Scrollsfranchise kicking off.

At the moment, we know very little.
We do know thatThe Elder Scrolls VIwas first announced in 2018 during Bethesda’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference.

Other than that, we have received nothing else over the past six years.
So it is perhaps no wonder that fans are feeling a bit frustrated withBethesda’slack of updates.
Matters were made worse earlier this year when Bethesda took to Twitter to thank fans for supporting 30 years of The Elder Scrolls.
In astatement, the company dedicated a very small section toTES VI.

“Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter -The Elder Scrolls VI.
Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement and promise of adventure.”
As you can imagine, fans were less than pleased.
“Man,Elder Scrolls 6was announced almost six years ago at this point. And afterStarfield, which I still liked despite its many flaws, I remain skeptical that they even remember what made their games so great.”

Another commentread: “The only reason they bothered to announceES6is because at the time, everyone wouldn’t stop asking them about it 24/7.
It was less “check out this cool game we’re making” and more “for the love of god please shut up aboutES6obviously we’re gonna make another one”.
It remains to be seen if Bethesda will release a detailed update about the project anytime soon but with fans losing hope, it couldn’t be too soon.
