Over on r/TESVI, a discussion was sparked over the potential map size forThe Elder Scrolls VIwith many believing that it may be the biggest one of the series so far.
“How big do you want the map forTESVIto be?” the original postread.
“OblivionandSkyrimwere roughly the same size. I think it’s time for the map to be quite a bit larger (around 3xSkyrim), especially considering the game will likely be set in Hammerfell and High Rock."
“Another big reason why the map needs to be larger is because I don’t want the Alik’r desert and High Rock’s peninsula to feel like small insignificant landmarks.”

“Twice that ofSkyrimcould maybe be good, if they also spread out the landmarks a bit more,” one comment read.
“TheTESseries has long been complimented for their open world design, but these days they feel a bit cramped. On the other hand, big maps aren’t great in and of themselves and quickly feel lifeless and boring. Also, the more cities there are, the smaller they’re gonna be.”
Another said: “I prefer denser maps. The only reason for them to have a map 3x the size is if they have 3x as much stuff in it.”
