The Elder Scrolls 6 PlayStation 5 release teased in new report

Here’s a turn up for the books:The Elder Scrolls VIlooks set to launch on PlayStation.

Initially, many had assumed this would be one of thoseXboxexclusives that would remain such for several years before eventually releasing onPlayStation.

But it seems this won’t be the case.

Purportedly, Xbox is under mounting pressure from its executives to scrap first-party titles in favour of launching across all platforms.

Furthermore, that Nadella is “celebrating with investors his strategy to move Xbox’s exclusive games to PlayStation”. Apparently, this has been “met with widespread alarm from Xbox users and confusion from pundits”.

The question is, if Microsoft pushes forward with these plans, where does that leave Xbox?

Yes, there will be short term gains, but in the long term these plans could harm more than they help.

Eventually releasing a title on another platform is all well and good, but to scrapallexclusives feels like a nail in Xbox’s coffin.

On the flip side, PS5 users look set to be able to play the new Elder Scrolls adventure when it finally launches, which would be a massive win for them.

Let’s face it, there’s few gamers who don’t loveSkyrim, so being able to play the next instalment would be a welcome boon.

Whether this is how it all plays out is, unfortunately, one of those wait-and-see situation. We’re still years away fromThe Elder Scrolls VIreleasing, which means Microsoft could change its plans before then.

It seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

This is assuming Bethesda doesn’t suffer more layoffs at the hands of Microsoft; it’s a real concern now.
