The Elder Scrolls VIis one of the most heavily-anticipated games of the decade, yet there’s still no word on when it\s coming out.
Bethesdaannounced and teasedThe Elder Scrolls VIback in 2018 at E3 (what a callback) and while it generated an absurd amount of hype at the time fans now believe it was a mistake announcing itso soon.
Take a look at that initial teaser trailer below
But now after so many years of waiting Bethesda is finally putting all of its time into the game’s development, so hopefully it’ll be with us sooner rather than later.

Fans have beendiscussingwhen the game might drop for a while now, with the most common dates being sometime in 2026 or 2028.
One Reddit post is a good example of this, as it questioned when we’ll see an actual trailer for the game if it’s due to launch in 2026.
“Bethesda don’t usually show in-game footage until they’ve got at least a rough release date and that means within about a year. They might do another teaser and confirm the name, maybe?” said one fan in response.
One fan suggested the game will launch in 2028, because “that’s when the next console generation is anticipated to arrive and having that, another COD game and maybe a Halo Game??? Would helpXboxhave a much stronger standing to kick off in comparison to the Series X|S’ launch having no first party titles.”

This would make sense, though recent news suggests Xbox is moving away from first-party titles and exclusives rather than towards them.
That saidElder Scrolls VIbeing available onXbox Game Passfrom day one would be a big win for the console.
