The Last Of Us fans torn over Part 3’s lead character

We’ve had a remake and a remaster sinceThe Last Of Us Part IIlaunched on thePlayStation4 in 2020, which means we’ll finally be breaking new ground when the next game rolls around.

But first there’s the second season ofThe Last Of UsTV series to get through, the trailer of which is below.

Little is known about the third game, and there was no mention of it on The Last Of Us Day, but it’s a topic of heated discussion in the community right now.

One such discussion is who should be the game’s protagonist, asThe Last Of Us Part IIgave us two in quite a controversial way.

The general consensus wasThe Last Of Us Part IIIneeds to be an Ellie game, with one fan hoping for at least “the vast majority of the game (as in 90 to 95% plus) with just her”.

Another went a step further saying they imagine the third game will focus on Ellie, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if “we play as a new character alongside her as well”.

Finally, one fan said they’d be “very surprised if the main character isn’t Ellie. And I doubt they’ll do the 50/50 split between two characters again, that would be a little too similar toPart II".

Personally, I’d imagine the next game will follow Ellie and whichever companion joins her, though it might make for a more impactful experience if she was alone for most of the game.
