The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered immediately review-bombed by angry ‘fans’

January has been kind to The Last of Us fans. Last Friday sawThe Last of Us Part II Remasteredlaunch, garnering praise from fans and critics alike.

The game scored a very respectable 91 on Metacritic, earning it the site’s “must-play” accolade. Here at GAMINGbible, we awardedThe Last of UsPart IIa perfect 10,writing, “The Last of Us Part II Remasteredis utter perfection.Naughty Doghas the advantage that it’s working with what is already one of the most-awarded games of all-time.The Last of Us Part II Remasteredis so much more than a new lick of paint though. While those new bells and whistles do boost the main game’s intensity and immersion, making this the definitive way to experience this stage of Ellie’s story, it’s far from the only way in which this release shines.” I do wish that was the only side of this story.

You get the idea. Almost all of these low score reviews are aimed at the story itself, and less so what actually makes this rerelease unique, like No Return and the Lost Levels. As much as I hate to admit it though, I don’t think any of us are too surprised. I’d have been shocked if this discourse hadn’t reared its head again. Overall, the user score sits at a very fair 8.2, with 18% being attributed as negative.
