
The Last of Usseason two of the HBO TV series hasn’t even arrived yet but production for its third season has reportedly begun.
When it comes to video game live-action adaptations, we gamers have not always had it easy. As aResident Evilfan, that’s a pain that I know oh so well but in recent times, the turbulent tide has begun to turn with a consistent level of good quality (mostly).

For example, in 2020 we got the surprisingly goodSonic the Hedgehogmovie and its sequel in 2022 was arguably even better. Now we can look forward toSonic the Hedgehog 3starring Keanu Reeves as Shadow with optimism when it arrives in cinemas this weekend.

Then we have TV adaptations, such as the aforementionedThe Last of Usfrom HBO that premiered in 2023 and was greeted with critical acclaim with a 96% rating from critics and 88% from the audience on the aggregatewebsite, Rotten Tomatoes.
What’s more, let’s not forget that the fantasticFalloutseries debuted on Amazon’s Prime streaming service earlier this year and was quicklyrenewed for a second season.
So I think it’s fair to say that gamers, while still with a degree of scepticism, have every reason to feel optimistic when it comes to modern-day adaptations.
With that in mind, we can look forward to the second season ofThe Last of Usarriving in 2025 and if that wasn’t exciting enough, its third season has already entered pre-production according to a report.

Unsurprisingly, details are very vague at this time but it’s understood that filming will once again take place in Vancouver, Canada, a popular resort for movie and TV makers.
No release date has been announced forThe Last of Usseason two but it is expected to arrive during spring 2025. As for season three, that wouldn’t surprise me if it were released in 2027 at the earliest.
