The Legend of Zelda fans divided over major new announcement

Welcome back to another episode of division within a gaming fandom; today, our attention is on The Legend of Zelda community.

It’s been a while since we spoke ofThe Legend of Zeldalive-action film, but that doesn’t mean the project isn’t going ahead.

In fact, according to the latest announcement, it’ll be out before 2030.

What an update!

In the wordsof fan @buckleupjazz, “It’s still 2024. This doesn’t feel like much in the way of news.”

Although this news is far from earth shattering, it givesNintendofans hope amidst a turbulent time for the brand.

Switchsales are down, share prices are all over the place, and we’ve yet to see the Switch 2 – a lot has been cracking off.

Fortunately, there’s some light at the end of this long tunnel. Firstly, that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible. Secondly, that The Legend of Zelda film is happening.

This is assuming Nintendo don’t fumble the ball with the live-action adaptation. We all remember the horror of hearing Chris Pratt as Mario for the first time…

Understandably given the ambiguity of the news, fans are divided over this announcement.

Check out the trailer forThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdombefore you go.

While user @relientkennysaid, “At least we get some good news today”, another fanremarked, “You just know this is not going to be good and it’s nowhere near release.”

Much like theMinecraftmovie, live-action for The Legend of Zelda seems an odd choice.

Ifit launches.

“I’ll believe there will be a Legend of Zelda movie when I see a trailer,”posted@DaddyReduxx.

Considering how easily projects can be cancelled nowadays, waiting for an official trailer isn’t a bad idea.

Not that the trailer is going to be released soon. We have up until 2030, folks, there’s no way we’re getting a trailer for at least a couple of years yet.
