Fans of The Lord of the Rings have plenty of Middle-Earth goodies to look forward to at the moment, but a tease dropped yesterday shows there could be even more on the horizon.
We already haveThe Rings of Powerwhich will continue, then there’s the anime adaptation,The War of the Rohirrim, and don’t forget Andy Serkis’The Hunt for Gollum.

However, in an interview withThe Playlist, Philippa Boyens, a member of theLord of the Ringsbrain trust, gave us details of more to come.

Readers and avid film fans would agree - the depth of details in Tolkien’s work is staggering.
This is where Amazon has been dipping in to find plot points for their TV show,The Rings of Power.
When asked if there are possibilities to adapt more of the writer’s work, Boyens replied, “There’s a lot of things in there, actually.”

She hints at another anime adaptation down the line, saying, “this [‘War Of The Rohirrim’] story has shown us is that a stand-alone story works really successfully within the world of Middle-earth, and I would genuinely […] love to see anotheranime.”
But what about more live-action films?
To this, Boyens commented, “There are some epic, particular stories that could translate into that more traditional epic trilogy format that was the original ‘Lord Of The Rings,’ the war of the rings story.”
It’s clear there are more stories swimming in the heads of those overseeing Tolkien’s work, and the audience would be eager to see more.

Just what these stories are, and when they could be made into film, is hard to say.
Regardless, fans of Middle-Earth will be cared for over the coming decades.
