It’s been confirmed that more The Lord of the Rings prequel tales are on the way following rumours of a series being cancelled.

One of the more recent prequels is theAmazonPrime series,The Lord of the Rings:The Rings of Powerwhich made its debut on the streaming platform in 2022.

It’s fair to say that the first season ofThe Rings of Powerreceived a mixed reaction from fans but it has recently concluded its second season with a third on the way. In ourreview ofThe Rings of Powerseason two, we said it’s “Hit and miss, but still more than entertaining.”
Over the two seasons so far, there have been 16 episodes. Amazon Studios had previously stated thatThe Rings of Powerwill have at least 50 episodes over many seasons. However, whether or not that goal is achieved can depend on many factors.

“We’ll continue to make the show as long as we see global customers loving it and watching it to the point where – it is a business. Obviously, we need a large amount of people showing up. And there are a large amount of people, so there’s no debate about whether or not the show will continue,” she explained.
