Sometimes we can look back on our favourite video games through rose-tinted glasses with our minds playing tricks making us believe that those games are better than they were.
To be fair, everything is comparable to its time. For example, we may love 2007’sUncharted: Drake’s Fortuneon PS3. Sure it wasn’t a perfect game, but it was still a lot of fun and looked great for its time. However, compared toUncharted 4: A Thief’s Endwhich was released in 2016 onPS4, it can be considered as an unfair comparison to make.

Furthermore,Assassin’s Creedwhich was also released in 2007 was a fantastic game for its time, albeit abitclunky, though I swear it handles better thanAssassin’s Creed Rogue. Regardless, much likeUncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the firstACgame would help to lay the foundation for the years to come.

So how do the originalAssassin’s CreedandUnchartedhold up today? To be fair, OGUnchartedstill holds up well, especially in the version included inThe Nathan Drake Collectionwhich is in full HD and has benefitted from some quality-of-life improvements.
Unfortunately, as for the OGAssassin’s Creed, it still hasn’t received the remake that it deserves, so we can only experience the game in its original form for better or worse. Admittedly, I played the original AC game a couple of years back to take a trip down memory lane and it was still decent, though my memory certainly remembers it more fondly than it should.
Reddit user Weedlereedshareda clip of some pretty sweet parkouring showcasing that the original game still has it, though I assume a little bit of practice would have gone into this clip before sharing it with the world.
