Released in the early 2000s and considered a cult classic,The Simpsons: Hit & Runhas never received a remake or remaster.
However, this 4K FPS remaster gives us some insight into what the title would look like over 20 years after its release and it has got a lot of fans feeling quite nostalgic.

The remaster in question was recently posted to r/SimpsonsHitAndRun and shows the original poster attach a beautiful looking screenshot of the game with the title “successfully modernised my childhood”.

The screenshot showsThe Simpsons: Hit & Runlook quite different to how it looked back in 2003 and it wasn’t long before fellow fans were questioning as to how the original poster managed to get these settings.
One asked, “how is it so HD, dude?”
To which the poster replied, “Developer mode onXbox. You can add an emulator and it actually upscales to 4k 60fps really well.”
More specifically, the poster used the XBSX2.0 for theXbox Seriesconsoles which works as a standalonePlayStation2 emulator. After fiddling around with a few settings (which took a couple of hours to do), they managed to makeThe Simpsons: Hit & Runlook quite different and a whole lot more modern.

According to them, the game will upscale automatically using this programme and players can just change the resolution for the emulator to apply texture and wide-screen patches.
“What a good game. The kid friendly version ofGTA”, one comment read.
