The Witcher 3- a video game I have played more times than I care to admit right now - is preparing to launch a brand-new expansion that is going to pull me right back in again.
The Witcher 3: Wild Huntis a game that I’ve played acrossPlayStation 4, NintendoSwitch,Xbox One X, and PlayStation 5. But with the impending launch of a new expansion that promises to completely change how we play the game, I fear I’m headed straight back in.

There arealready plenty of modsforThe Witcher 3, but as of 21 May we can start enjoying official support from CD Projekt RED.
Look at the modding scene for a game likeSkyrim, and you’ll probably see why this is so exciting. This opens up a whole new world forThe Witcher 3modding community, making things like new quests, weapons, expansion-sized mods, more possible.
CD Projekt wrote on social media: “Mark your calendars: The Witcher 3 REDkit, an extensive mod editor based on the game’s engine, releases on May 21st, 2024! It will be available for free for everyone who ownsThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunton PC.”
Alas, console gamers will not be able to experience the joy ofThe Witcher 3mods, but what else is new? As someone who recently picked up a Steam deck, I look forward to sinking yet another 100 hours into a heavily modded version of one of the best video games of all time.
