The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hailed as one of the greatest games of all time, 8 years later

I’ll admit. The Witcher 3gets off to a slow start but if you can persevere past those opening hours, you’ll be treated to what is one of the best experiences in gaming. Isn’t that the case with so many RPGs though? There’s so much dialogue to get through as you learn about the lore of the world before you can really dive into the main stretch. If you’re aPlayStation Pluspremium tier subscriber, you can actually sample four hours of the game right nowvia a new free trial. If season three of Netflix’sThe Witcherhas left you craving more, there’s no better time to dive in. If you’re here though, I’m guessing it’s because you’re a major fan - and you’re very much not alone in that.

Take a look at season three ofThe Witcherin action below.

Reddit user blackwolf57 took to the site towrite, “Found this old screenshot ofThe Witcher 3from 2020. One of the best games I’ve ever played.” It goes without saying that plenty of people agreed. Desiderius_niwrote, “WhenThe Witcher 3came out, I played it for eight hours straight the first Saturday. I remember vividly how much the world sucked me in with those sunsets and the way Geralt’s sword bumped around on his back as he rode along. The sound of the howling wind and the wonderful music made me want to just take Geralt and Roach on a big lonesome road-trip through the world.”

Thankfully for us, there are so many Witcher games in the pipeline. There’s abrand new trilogyin the works. It carries on fromThe Witcher 3, but it’s notThe Witcher 4- potentially hinting towards a new protagonist / soft reboot situation. There’s also going to be a multiplayer Witcher and a remake of the first game. We’re feasting well.
