The Witcher 4 development update is just what we wanted to hear

The Witcher fans can rejoice to learn that the next entry in the franchise,The Witcher 4,has just received a development update and it sounds quite promising to say the least.

It has been almost 10 years sinceThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntwas released and despite multiple DLCs, a Netflix show and more, fans are still desperate for more of the monster-slaying fantasy world.

However, the wait for more may be over a lot sooner than we think thanks to a recent development update from Paweł Sasko, quest designer ofCyberpunk 2077.

Since then,The Witcher 4’sdevelopment news has been on the quiet side which is perhaps unsurprising considering CD Projekt Red are also hard at work on aCyberpunk 2077sequel currently known as Project Orion.

As forThe Witcher 4,Sasko has confirmed that it is being “intensively worked on” in aninterviewwith Aftermath. Additionally, he revealed that some of theCyberpunk 2077team has also moved over to work on it.

However,Cyberpunk 2077fans do not need to worry about this news as Project Orion is still firmly on track with Sasko confirming that “most managers and most directors who worked onCyberpunkandPhantom Libertyare on [the new]Cyberpunk.”

Despite the sequel being in active development, it is still in its “early stages” and it is no wonder the team are taking things slow after the less-than-smooth release ofCyberpunk 2077.Furthermore, Sasko also revealed that avoiding crunch will be important to the game’s development.

With CD Projekt Red currently working on multiple projects at different speeds, it is currently unknown when we can expect bothThe Witcher 4andCyberpunk 2.However, with such an eager fanbase, they could not come quick enough.
