The Witcher 4 quietly teased on 17th anniversary of the original game

We all know that CD Projekt Red is hard at work on a handful of different projects, one of which includesThe Witcher 4.

Following on from the huge success ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntin 2015,CD Projekt Redis set to return with a fourth instalment in the much-loved RPG series.

With the project still in its early development stages, we don’t know much about it but what we do know is exciting indeed.

Codenamed Project Polaris,The Witcher 4will add “new gameplay elements and new mechanics” and will be the “beginning of a new saga” for the franchise.

Additionally, although Doug Cockle has confirmed that Geralt will be making a return in the next entry, we are doubtful that he will take on the lead role.

Could this mean that it is time for Ciri to step up?

Replying to a post which aimed to celebrate the 17th anniversary ofThe Witcher,Nowakowski said thefollowing:

“17 years agoThe Witcher 1rolled out with all of us holding big hopes for it.

I was there during the launch and I never dreamt where the company will be many years later.

Can’t wait to tell you more about what the future holds. When the time is right of course ;).”

Although Nowakowski doesn’t give away much, we can expect it to be an exciting few years for fans of The Witcher.

In the meantime, season four of Netflix’sThe Witcheradaptation is set to air some time in 2025 so if you want more of the grizzly Geralt, you don’t have long to wait.
