The Witcher fans concerned following The Witcher 4 announcement

CD Projekt REDhas recently revealed thatThe Witcher 4is now in its “most intensive phase of development”, which is great news!

That is… until you remember the launch of CD Projekt RED’s last big game.

Cyberpunk 2077’srelease is an event that will probably be etched in the minds of gamers until the end of recorded history, because it’s honestly tough to think of a bigger gaming catastrophe in recent memory.

In a thread over on the r/Games subreddit detailing the news ofThe Witcher 4’sdevelopment update, fans were quick to voice their lack of faith in the upcoming project.

“I hope they don’t bend to pressure (internal or external) to hit an unrealistic release date,” replieduser MegaDuckCougarBoy.

“Cyberpunk has gotten a lot better but at release it was so clearly undercooked, it was practically runny”

In another absolute wall of text, one user broke down all of the issues that plaguedCyberpunk 2077’slaunch (and basically did my job for me, cheers mate!)

“Everyone focuses on the actual release of Cyberpunk, but no one seems to remember the outright lies they rpesented about the game…” beganuser Faithless195.

“There was the notorious state of the console versions, which were outright taken off from sale digitally. As well as enforcing an embargo until the day or so of release, and the review copies were ONLY for PC, no one saw or knew about the console situation until people bought the game and installed it…”

Personally, I think/hope thatThe Witcher 4will release in a semi-decent state.

CD Projekt is surely aware of the lack of faith the community now has in them, and releasing The Witcher 4 in a sub-par state would destroy what little goodwill they have remaining.

Just do me a favour, folks; don’t pre-order it.
