It’s fair to say that the RPG has arguably blessed us with more epic adventures than any other genre offering a level of immersion that cannot be found elsewhere and if that sounds like your cup of tea, then this upcoming open-world fantasy RPG could be for you.
Two of the most popular RPG franchises of all time areCD Projekt RED’sThe Witcher series and the classic Fable from Lionhead Studios. Video games such asThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntrequire the utmost preparation if you are going to defeat some of the game’s more deadly foes and it’s certainly one for those who enjoy more mature games.
Check out the Outward 2 pre-alpha trailer below!
As for theFableseries, this charming RPG has a lighter tone than The Witcher but is perhaps more friendly for gamers of most generations and skill levels. The last game in The Witcher series is the aforementionedWild Huntwhich was originally released in 2015 before receiving anew-gen upgrade in December 2022.

The last mainline entry in the Fable series was the remake of the original game released in 2013 for the Xbox 360. This is why fans can’t wait for the arrival of theFable rebootcoming toPCandXboxSeries X/S, hopefully within the next year or so. Yet, until that reboot arrives, if we can blend the best of The Witcher and Fable, that’s a concoction that will pique our interest.
Outward 2is the sequel to the game that was initially released in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before being ported to other platforms. Nine Dots Studio has released a pre-alpha gameplay trailer giving us a taste of what to expect from the upcoming open-world fantasy RPG.
The developer has also teased that a playable demo will be available at PAX East on 21 March 2024. With a bit of luck, that playable demo will one day make its way onto the Steam store for us to download for free.
