The Witcher season 3 part 2 ending has Henry Cavill’s Geralt go down fighting

Spoiler warning: this article discusses the ending of the third season ofThe Witcher. If you’ve not already watched it and you don’t want to be spoiled, scroll far, far away right now. Otherwise, let’s get into it.

Take a look at the trailer forThe Witcherseason three below.

So, how did it all end? Obviously, Geralt’s adventures aren’t over for good, so he didn’t go down in a blaze of glory and meet an emotional end. Equally, anyone who was hoping to see Cavill’s face morph intoHemsworth’sbefore our eyes is probably feeling rather disappointed.

As Distractifyreports, while Ciri eventually gets out of the wasteland that she landed in at the end of season three part one (before going on to meet The Rats), Geralt is busy almost dying after his fight against Vilgefortz. Not a great time to be him. Obviously though, he recovers, and after doing so, he sets out to find Ciri. Meanwhile, Yennefer is preoccupied doing cool mage stuff (she’s their leader now, apparently), and bringing all of them together in order to prepare for the upcoming fights against Nilfgaard. Or anyone else who wants to hurt Ciri, for that matter.

And that’s it, really. Honestly, I’m a little underwhelmed. Previously,The Witcherexecutive producer Tomasz ‘Tomek’ Bagiński teased that thetransition to Hemsworth will be “very lore accurate”and “very, very close to the meta ideas which are deeply embedded in the books”. Clearly, we’re yet to see what that actually means.

There’s currently no scheduled release date forThe Witcherseason four.
