All hail the glory of Shrek. Everybody’s favourite orge is in the spotlight again in what feels like a hark back to the 00s when the franchise was in its heyday.
We could lose ourselves in the hype about the films alone. However, there’s video gaming Shrek updates to be had too – like learning that an open-world RPG dedicated to Shrek has been created inUnreal Engine5.

As one happy fan said, “Shrek is love. Shrek is life. Amen.” We’ll add an extra amen to that.
Before you get overly excited at the prospect of returning to the swamp through the magic of video games, we’re sorry to have to point out a problem with that. This is but a concept of what aPCtitle could look like.

As upsetting as it is to learn this, seeing Shrek brought to life via the Unreal Engine brings us hope, perhaps misplaced, that one day a developer will realise that now is the time to make this game happen.
It sounds like a way to heal the world. Yet, we’re not ready for that. Lord knows we really need to be, but we can only experience Shrek like this through a concept trailer… at least for now.
