This Simpsons Hit & Run 60fps remaster runs at 4k and is a thing of beauty

The Simpsons: Hit & Runis one of the most beloved video games of its generation and fans have been calling for a remaster for many years, a call that is yet to be answered. Well, at least officially.

In 2008, Vivendi Universal Games merged with publisherActivisionand being a company that likes to make all the money in the world, it’s somewhat of a mystery as to why to this very day,The Simpsons: Hit & Runis yet to receive an official remake or remaster. As such, fans have taken such matters into their own hands.

In August 2021, a fan decided toremakeThe Simpsons: Hit & Runand just two years later, this amazingproject would see its completionin July 2023. The fan-made remake featured an explorable world, audio sampled from the original game, even missions to partake in, and more. This remake looks amazing, but sadly to avoid the wrath of the Activision lawyers, this project will never be released for public use.

Well, SCR0ALL answered that question saying, “Developer mode on Xbox, you can add an emulator and it actually upscales to 4k 60fps really well.” So there you have it. If you take advantage of Developer Mode, you too can enjoy a 4k remastered version of this retro gem.

Whether Activision decides to create a remake or remaster ofThe Simpsons: Hit & Runremains to be seen. However, should that one day happen, it will no doubt be a massive hit for new and returning fans alike.
