Three of the best first-person shooters of yesteryear are making a triumphant comeback with the TimeSplitters series returning to PlayStation next week.

Then in 2002, we were treated toTimeSplitters 2, arguably the best entry in the series. Rather than just being a PlayStation 2 title, the sequel was also released onXboxand theNintendoGameCube. Sadly, we would see the last entry in the series withTimeSplitters: Future Perfectin 2005, which was a worthy entry from its predecessors, at the very least.

At this time, Embracer Group owns the publishing rights to TimeSpliters, and while there is no official word of us getting another new game in the series, the original trilogy is coming toPlayStation Plus on 20 August 2024.

While neither of the three TimeSplitters games will include online multiplayer, they will feature local multiplayer which includes campaign co-op withTimeSplitters 2andTimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Not to mention that they should all look extra snazzy in a higher resolution and framerate.
Hopefully, returning fans will still get a lot of enjoyment out of this series and new fans will see what all the fuss is about. Then maybe, just maybe, Embracer Group might give TimeSplitters another crack of the whip for the modern era.
