Toy Story 2 PS1 Unreal Engine 5 remake just hit us right in the childhood

As far as film tie-in games go,Toy Story 2for the PS1 was an absolute gem so it’s no wonder fans have remade the game in Unreal Engine 5.

Originally released for thePlayStation1,Nintendo64 andPC,Toy Story 2follows a similar story to the animated Pixar film but from the perspective of Buzz Lightyear.

It’s fondly remembered for its gameplay and again, for a tie-in film game there’s an impressive amount of quality present.

But as any gameplay video would tell you it’s now a tad bit out of date, which is where the latest and greatestUnreal Engine5 tools come in.

YouTuber Level reDesign reportedly spent over 200 hours remaking the game in Unreal Engine and for lack of a better word itlooks spectacular.

The project is still a work in progress at the time of writing so there are a few issues and glitches that need fine-tuning/ironing out, but for the most part it’s an impressive build especially with all the work that’s gone into it.

Fans of the game who played it back in the day were thrilled to see it brought back to life, and shared their admiration for the project in the comment section.

Unfortunately you can’t play it for yourself just yet, but as work on the project continues it’s believed a demo, and eventually a full release, will be launched at a later date
