Two classic PlayStation games freed from PS Plus Premium jail

Two classic PS1 games are now available to buy on PlayStation 4 and 5 without having to fork out for an expensive PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

We all likePlayStation Plus, right? It’s got enough games on it that’ll last you your entire life and it isn’t overly expensive to get in on one of the cheaper tiers.

But there’s no denying that Premium tier can be a little expensive, especially if you just want to dip in to a few classic games from your younger years.

The games areResident Evil: Director’s CutandDino Crisis. The latter has been on the servicesince October, while the former has been on there since the PlayStation Plus revamp in 2022.

To put things into perspective, one month of Premium costs £13.49 / $17.99, while one year is £119.99 / $159.99. So you can see why it might have been a little frustrating if you just wanted to outright buy the games without a subscription.

Fans are pleased with this news. Over on the Resident Evil subreddit, one userwrote: “Thank god, so ridiculous these were exclusive to the highest tier of a subscription service.”
