If you live long enough, you’ll see your childhood heroes become the villains, or, more accurately, become the stuff of nightmares. We’ve seen Winnie the Pooh go on a bloody rampage, Spongebob lose control, and now the monsters ofMonsters Inc. are joining the growing list.
Here’s the wholesome original.
How upsetting, then, to see Sully and Mike reduced to horrifying monsters in anUnreal Engine5 horror that will most definitely ruin your childhood. Don’t misunderstand us, this short horror looks incredible, even if they have the wrong type of mobile using a torch (90s phones didn’t have torches). Still, we didn’t want to see beloved characters turning sinister and hiding in our closets.

Set in the cosy environment of a family home, it’s only the lack of light and foreboding use of a mobile phone as a light source that alerts you to something being amiss. Then, from the shadows, emerges a glowing-eyed Sully that’s hellbent on getting their claws on any unsuspecting human they can find.
Fortunately, the character in this horror moves with decent speed. However, rather typically, they ignore the many rules of how to survive a horror situation, choosing to turn around and look into the eyes of the monster pursuing them. Thank goodness Boo is on hand to point over their shoulder into the seemingly empty closet, emulating so many great creepy children from horror films.
“I was NOT expecting that ending, this whole thing was so well animated. You earned my sub and support,” said one viewer in response to the YouTube video. While another kept their praise simple with a precise “your work is incredible” comment. It really is.
