The remake forMystsequel, Myst II: Riven, is confirmed for release later this year for PC, and will include VR support.

Several aspects include live-action performances to make the player feel like they were really there with the characters, and for the time of release, it accomplished this goal quite well.
Last year, developer Cyan Worlds releasedFirmamentwhich was another adventure game that failed to live up to the legacyMystandRivenleft behind, but that shouldn’t be the case with the dev’s next release, a remake ofRivenusingUnreal Engine5.
The remake promises a fully-enhanced version of the original game, both in terms of gameplay and graphical fidelity.

The description reads: “Explore surreal islands, each meticulously crafted with unparalleled attention to detail, from dense, lush jungles to awe-inspiring caverns.”
This time around though, the player won’t just be restricted to their flat screen display as the full release will include a VR mode to get you closer to the action than ever before, though it hasn’t been specified which VR sets will be supported at the time of writing.
It’s also yet to confirm when exactly the game will be released, as it provides the vague launch date of later in the year.
Riven’sUnreal Engine 5 remake will be exclusive to PC, likely sold via Steam and other online stores.
