It was supposed to be an elaborate teaser for a game calledSilent Hills, which was unfortunately scrapped when Kojima andKonamiparted ways.

Finally,Silent Hillfans had some luck when Konami announced several projects were in the works, includinga remake ofSilent Hill 2which I couldn’t be more excited for, as long as it’s good.

Now though, a fan-made game calledChaperoneis on the way, and it looks like whatP.T.was always meant to be. The horror game was made inUnreal Engine4, and will be released onSteamlater this month. Players will take control of a first-person perspective and walk through an eerily dark house, full of interactive objects as well as several unknown dangers.

Every corridor and room of the house feels surprisingly small and closed-in, adding further tension as you slowly creep around a corner, not knowing what you might find on the other side. As you explore you’ll likely see things out of the corner of your eye, or hear noises that just don’t sound right, as you try to find a way out.

From the looks of things, the developers did a really good job with the game’s atmosphere, and the inspiration fromP.T.and Silent Hill shines throughout the gameplay.

This is definitely one to add to your Steam wishlist and keep an eye on, especially if you’re patiently waiting for the next official entry in the Silent Hill series.
