Very Good Dog completes charity speedrun for GDQ

Speedrunsare amongst the most impressive feats in gaming, relying on in-depth knowledge of a game, expert timing and a lot of patience to get them right. Whether it be a normal speedrun, a blindfolded run, or other parameters to make them more challenging, a successful speedrun at any level is something to be proud of.

However, even more impressive than a human doing a speedrun is an animal, which is why we’re very happy to say a clever dog recently completed a charity speedrun on the Games Done Quick livestream.

Peanut Butter, a Shiba Inu belonging to speedrunner JSR, recently finished a run of theNintendoEntertainment System gameGyromiteusing nothing but his paws.

Often speedrunners on the Games Done Quick livestream make the trip to Pittsburgh to play in front of an audience, however the pair decided it’d be best to remain at home for the challenge instead, though that didn’t take away from the massive achievement.

JSR has said it’s taken years to teach Peanut Butter to press the right buttons on command, with treats being used to make the behaviour more consistent. Nevertheless all the hard work paid off and Peanut Butter was rewarded with plenty more treats and a lot of love once the run had been completed.

There’s been no word on if Peanut Butter will ever do another speedrun, though JSR will as he’ll soon be tacklingCastlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse.
