Viva Piñata is long overdue a revival, Xbox gamers agree

Xbox fans want another Viva Piñata game and honestly, I’m right there with them.

WhileXbox’sacquisition of Rare back in 2002 was a blow toNintendofans across the world, it seems the company is finally making use of the developer’s talents.

WhileSea Of Thievesis still as popular as ever, it’s saidanother Banjo & Kazooie game is currently in development, and will hopefully be a direct sequel toBanjo-Tooiefrom 2000. While I’m sure fans would be over the moon if that rumour turns out to be true, some are also hopeful for another Viva Piñata.

For those unaware,Viva Piñatawas a chilled-out simulation game where players tended to a farm that was home to various animals, all of which were piñatas. They’d grow the farm and its population while defending it from attackers, and it grew very popular with Xbox players, enough to garner a sequel and inclusion onRare Replay.

Of course the two aren’t similar at all, the only similarity you could possibly take from them is they’re both games about taming and keeping various critters, but it’s a funny comparison nonetheless.

The post sparked a discussion about just how muchViva Piñata slapped as a series, and definitely deserves another chance on modern consoles.

One player said, “Viva Piñatais a top tier, underrated game. Incredible.”

Someone else added, “You know what? I was just playingPalworld… Looking around my base, I had a flashback to playingViva Piñataand how much fun that game was in the first few months of the Xbox 360.”

Another player then stated, “We needViva Piñata 3,” and they’re absolutely right.

Xbox has said it’s considering reviving some of its back catalogue, so it wouldn’t be the wildest possibility that a new Viva Piñata game could be greenlit, hopefully anyway.
