Mafia: Definitive Editionlaunched to pretty decent reviews. The Xbox One version of the game is currently sitting at a “generally favourable” score of79 on Metacritic.

IGN’s Luke Reilly was particularly fond of it in their 8/10 review, praising it for its “excellent performances from its new cast, a fantastic driving model, and a beautiful and authentic city oozing with 1930s atmosphere like overfilled cannoli”.

It wasn’t all complimentary however, asGame Informer’s Jeff Clarkwas particularly harsh in his 5.5/10 review. He criticised it for being too faithful to the original, concluding that “Mafia: Definitive Edition is an interesting time capsule that shows how far the industry has come since 2002.”
