Xbox drops 2 free games you’ve 48 hours to download

The latest edition of Free Play Days has arrived, granting Xbox users the opportunity to sample games somewhat free of charge.

I say somewhat because despite being called ‘Free’ Play Days, you do actually need to be a subscriber toXbox Game Pass.

For this edition, it doesn’t matter whether you’re on the Core or Ultimate tier. Both are eligible to get involved.

The event is underway now and will run until 1 September at 11.59pm PDT.

Let’s jump straight into what you can play. There are only two options this month, both with a post-apocalyptic theme.

The first isAge of Water, which would typically set you back $29.99.

ICYMI:Indiana Jones and the Great Circlelaunches on Xbox and PC later this year.

“Sail through storms, fight and trade, capture other people’s boats or build your own, extract resources from the bottom of the ocean and reveal the secrets of theAge of Waterworld,” the synopsis reads.

The game has just been updated with a new campaign which adds story content as well as extra ‘boss ship’ enemies.

You’ll be tasked with acquiring parts for your ship so it’s seaworthy, in addition to fighting and trading with those you come across, capturing their boats and extracting resources.

You’ll come up against computer opponents to start with before moving on to PvP content.

If that’s not your cup of tea, you could tryOutbreakwhich ordinarily would cost you $9.99.

There’s split-screen co-op available, should you want to recruit a friend.

It’s not the most exciting Free Play Days I’ve ever seen but I’m sure these titles will appeal to some.
