Pentimentis now available on thePlayStation5, and in a shocking turn of events it runs better than the Xbox Series X/S version. On Xbox consoles the game is locked to 60fps, which isn’t the case on the PS5, which can play the game at 120fps.
Now before a mini console war kicks off it’s worth noting a few things. Firstly,Pentimentis not an action game, it’s a 2D game with a stylised art style that really doesn’t need a high framerate to be enjoyable. Secondly, the developers of the game have commented on the 60fps Xbox lock, saying it’s due to a bug and will be bumped up to 120fps following a future update.

That being said the game has been out since 2022, and for that entire time it’s ran at 60fps and no higher, which begs the question why Xbox fans are only just getting confirmation of a framerate boost.
