As of right now,Final Fantasy XIV Onlineis in its beta phase on Xbox and you canplay it for free. That is until the full game is released and when that arrives, you’ll have to pay for it. I would imagine for the most part, Xbox gamers will be enjoying their time playingFinal Fantasy XIV Online, which even includes an exclusive feature that is not available on PC and PlayStation.

Sure, perhaps this exclusive in-game currency might be well-received and prove to be so popular, that it might make its way onto PC and PlayStation. I would assume that Square Enix is also beta-testing this currency but I could be wrong. That being said, I can’t think of a single time when in-game currency made a game objectively better, if anything, it tends to make a game worse.

So in theory, this in-game currency kind of makes the Xbox Series X/S version ofFinal Fantasy XIV Onlinethe worst version, at least for now. Yet, don’t be surprised if it’s implemented on the other platforms in the coming months.
