It’s an ugly development gamers want to see the back of.

“Not a fan of these ads on boot-up,”said@SecretAgentHam in response to the post shared.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a full page ad has appeared on Xbox consoles; whenModern Warfare IIIwas released last year ads for it irked players as well.
“I paid $500 for an Xbox Series X not $500 for an ad Machine. This is absurd,”remarked@ninehalo369.
To which someone rushed in to defend this questionable changesaying, “Is it? You can press B and it’ll be gone. Doesn’t even last one sec.”

Although this is true, people still don’t want to have an advertisement pushed onto them when there’s already ads for the game elsewhere.
The controversy isn’t even about the game advertised but rather that the ads exist at all, as demonstrated in thiscommentfrom @IM2WestCoast, “Lol. F**k that, I don’t care what game it is that’s annoying.”
