Starfieldis fast approaching, leaving PlayStation and Switch users with a big dilemma - finally cave and buy a new-gen Xbox, or sit back and suffer through months of FOMO?
It’s a tricky one. As we all know, consoles don’t come cheap - in fact, theXbox Series Xis set to permanently increase in price next month, makingMicrosoft’shigh-powered new-gen beast even more expensive. Thankfully though, we still have theXbox Series Sto fall back on - it might not be as powerful as its pricey counterpart, and it might not be able to read game discs, but it’s alsosignificantlyless impactful on any gamer’s bank account. A worthy trade-off.

Normally, anXboxSeries S costs around £249.99, which is way less than the Series X at £449.99 (soon to be £479.99). However, at the time of writing on Amazon, you can grab one for even less, giving you an even cheaper option for a dedicatedStarfieldmachine.

Right now, a certified refurbished Series S costs just over £203, which is quite a steal. To be clear, yes, this is a pre-owned console, but as Amazon states, it’s been put through a “rigorous certification process” to make sure that everything is working as it should be - at worst, there could just be some cosmetic damage.
If you don’t want to buy from Amazon, certified refurbished Series S consoles can also be bought from Xbox directly, but they start at £209.99, so Amazon is still currently the slightly cheaper option. You can find the listingright here.
There’s less than two months to go until the launch ofStarfield- it’ll be out and in gamers’ hands on 6 September.
