One of the biggest video games of 2024 is Bethesda’sFallout 4which is quite incredible because the post-apocalyptic RPG was released in 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
After what felt like a lifetime, Bethesda finally released the freeFallout 4next-gen updatelast week for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and when you throw inAmazonStudios’ live-action adaptation (which has already beenrenewed for season two), the Fallout series is as hot as it’s been for a long time.

As with the nature of most new-gen updates, they usually give the player the choice of playing a video game in performance or quality mode. In the case ofBethesda’sFallout 4, quality mode gives the visuals a boost while performing at 30 frames per second with its performance mode offering up to 60fps at the expense of the visuals taking a slight hit.

While many would likely select performance mode forFallout 4, it would at least be nice to see how good the beloved RPG will look with enhanced visuals on new-gen consoles. However, things are even worse for Fallout 4 gamers on PlayStation right now.
Fallout 4is included in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, meaning that the Bethesda title is playable at no extra cost to subscribers or at least, it should be. PS Plus subscribers have been reporting that when they attempt to playFallout 4, they’re being asked to pay for the full game.
So for PlayStation Plus subscribers,Fallout 4can be considered as unplayable unless they pay for the game outright which of course, defies the point of being a PS Plus subscriber. Hopefully, Bethesda will fix both issues for Xbox and PlayStation gamers soon.
